Shamil Kamil oghlu Rajabov was born on 4 October 1970 in Aghdam.
From 1977 to 1988, he studied at Secondary School No. 5 in Aghdam.
After graduating with excellent marks, he completed his military service from 1989 to 1991 in the Khabarovsk region of the Russian Federation.
Upon returning from military service, Shamil was admitted to the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy named after Dadash Bunyadzada (present-day UNEC).
While studying part-time, he worked at the Baku Oil Refinery.
After the occupation of Aghdam by Armenian forces, Shamil discontinued his studies and voluntarily joined the front line.
On 18 April 1994, he was martyred during heavy fighting in the village of Garvand in Aghdam.
Shamil Rajabov was laid to rest at the Second Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
